Sounding the Winds

Jon Drummond’s Sounding the Winds (2005 – ) uses the movement of a flying kite to effect changes in the instrument’s sounds.

Similar to his Sonic Construction instrument (2004 – ), Drummond intentionally creates musical instruments that have a level of randomness and unpredictability – where the player has limited control over the music being produced. It also means that every performance is different.
