Miniature Percussion
Rosemary Joy’s Miniature Percussion is a set of acoustic percussion instruments to be played by a small group of musicians for a small audience.
Sitting side-by-side at a bench, each performer has a miniature percussion instrument, comprising a wooden resonator on which an assortment of crafted copper, ceramic, and found objects and materials sit. The audience, comprising no more than three people to every musician, sit on the opposite side of the performer’s table.
The performance sees each performer offering up a private demonstration of the subtle acoustic properties and textures of the various objects placed between them and the audience member.
