Echidna

echidnaKTroniK’s Echidna comprises a dual analog sequencer and MIDI brain (middle) controlling two circuit-bent Speak & Spells. The Echidna allows for control of the Speak & Spell bends on both machines simultaneously. Both circuit-bent units are detachable, allowing for other circuit-bent units to easily connect to the Echidna sequencer.

Echidna is just one example of KTroniK’s circuit bending exploits with Texas Instruments. Over the past 20 years KTroniK instruments have used TI’s Speak & Read, and Speak & Math machines, as well as modified Atari ST systems, numerous bent electronic toys, and an array of tweaked electronic machines. Re-engineered to a high standard, using quality components, these machines are built to survive the rigours of circuit-bent sound chaos!

Currently on the KtroniK drawing board is the development of mini 8-step sequencers and 8-note midi brains for controling other circuit-bent units.
