Circuit-Bending Workshop
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009
Toydeath’s Nick Wishart is again running his very popular workshop Introduction to Circuit Bending.
Designed for electronics novices and unfulfilled boffins, this is an ideal way for people to learn more about using electronics creatively from a doyen of circuit-bending.
Musicians interested in tinkering with new electronic instruments should not pass this opportunity up. At the very least you’ll come away knowing how to repair those busted microphones that have been piled up behind the couch for the past 12-months.
Installation artists will learn new skills for developing interactive circuits.
Topics the workshop will cover include:
Modify an electronic toy to create your own musical instrument! All equipment and components are provided.
Hands on and great fun guaranteed! You will walk away with a basic understanding of electronics, as well as your own electronic instrument or kit!
If you or someone you know is wanting to learn more about circuit-bending through a hands-on workshop, then don’t miss this opportunity.
And for those that don’t know, circuit-bending is that alchemy of electronics that perverts and transforms low-voltage electronic circuits found in battery-powered toys, gadgets, controllers, and anything else you can pull apart.
When: 12-4pm, 21+22 March 2009 (8 hours over 2 days)
Where: Marrickville, Sydney, Australia
Cost: $150
